This Collection of vases was fired for 5 days 24 hours a day with sticks of wood and a bunch of crazy potters. (no electric) The sheen occurs when the ash from wood lands on the surface of a pot and melts at temperatures over 2300 degrees Fahrenheit. Although earthy these colors are difficult to achieve and are considered to be a specialized firing process.
